(MISSISSAUGA, ONT.)—Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) rings in a new year delightfully announcing an unprecedented sales streak with 12 consecutive months of ever-increasing results. This past month capped a record-breaking year with 3,876 units retailed, a 4.6 percent increase over the same month last year and best December ever. More importantly, these milestone results culminate in a banner sales year with a grand total of 54,570 vehicles retailed in 2017. This annual sales record surpasses last year’s record of 50,190 units, for a record-breaking 8.7 percent increase in overall sales.


Subaru’s compact crossover, the Crosstrek, retailed 996 units in December for an incredible 48.0 percent increase over the same month last year and a 14.9 percent jump over 2016 sales with an overall 11,168 units retailed this past year. The Subaru Impreza also had an uptick in sales with 621 units sold, a 38.6 percent rise over last December; in fact, Impreza sales surged in 2017 with a skyrocketing increase of 42.4 percent as Canadians drove sales up to 10,617 units overall.


“More Canadians than ever before drove Subaru’s sales with a record-setting results streak, which gave rise to Subaru’s highest sales ever,” said Yasushi Enami, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc.  “With our sixth consecutive annual sales record in the books, we are ready for 2018 as our strong dealer network steps forward into 2018 and we bring our best product offering yet.”
