Subaru Canada Continues Hot Streak with Record-Breaking July Sales

  • Subaru Canada recorded excellent July sales with 5,044 units sold, a 13.2 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.

  • Strong sales across all regions contributed to year-to-date units sold of 32,920, a 6.6 per cent increase over the same time last year.


(MISSISSAUGA, ONT.)—Impressive sales continue this summer for Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI), with outstanding July results contributing to yet more sales records.


SCI finished the month with 5,044 units sold, a 13.2 per cent increase compared to last July. Overall, year-to-date sales are at 32,920 units, marking a 6.6 per cent increase over the same period last year.


The all-new 2019 Ascent three-row SUV contributed its share of sales with 398 units sold, while the Crosstrek and Legacy showed extremely strong sales, marked by 24.3 per cent and 18.5 per cent sales increases, respectively, over last July. Forester, Impreza and Outback also had higher sales compared to last year.

Across Canada, all regions reported robust sales compared to the same month last year. Western region was in the top spot once again with a 15 per cent sales increase compared to the previous July, while Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic also grew, with increases of 14.7 per cent, 12.1 per cent and 4.6 per cent, respectively.


“Our award-winning lineup is something we are proud to offer,” said SCI chairman, president and CEO Yasushi Enami. “Our products are known for world-class safety, performance, reliability and versatility, and we’re so pleased that more Canadians are switching to Subaru.”


With July in the books, SCI’s sales continue to grow, with 2018 shaping up to be another record-breaking year. Strong year-to-date sales of 32,920 through the first seven months of 2018 put the brand on pace to break the annual sales record set just last year, when SCI sold an impressive 54,570 units. That record-setting year marked the brand’s sixth consecutive annual sales record.
